Antiquity… say it even more slowly: an… tiq… uity. The little placards give some nothing piece of information: Thrace, 650-480 BCE. Where the fuck even was Thrace? Bee Cee Ee? Wait, so I have to add six hundred years… I guess that’s why the noses are always broken. But… it lasted! It survived in all that time! The cheekbones, that cupid’s bow of the upper lip! Someone whose bones have been dust for thousands of years had eyes, a face, ears… and the delicate work of their hands is right in front of me even now…..
